The Patrol Division consists of a variety of units. The uniformed officers provide around the clock police services throughout the city. The Community Oriented Policing Unit
provides a police presence in neighborhoods through visibility and public interaction. The Reserve Unit is a group of volunteers who provide assistance to our department during
parades and civic events. The SWAT Unit, provides support in high-risk situations in addition to the normal duties of the officers involved.
The Fort Smith Police Department strives to provide professional law enforcement services at all times. When we fail to achieve this important goal, we would like to know so
we can take the steps necessary to improve.
