| Sergeant Waymon Parker serves the Fort Smith Police Department as the 911 Communications Center Supervisor. His staff includes 2 Lead Operators
and 19 911 Telecommunicators. He is a fifteen year veteran of the Fort Smith Police Department having served in the Patrol Division, Bicycle Unit, and Detectives
Division prior to his assignment in the Communications Unit. Sgt. Waymon Parker is also a certified law enforcement instructor. The Communications Center was
accredited through CALEA’s (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) Public Safety Communications Association initially in 2007, with the Police
Departments initial accreditation having been in 2003. The Fort Smith Police Department is the first dually accredited Police Department in the State of Arkansas.
